Day 16 of 30 Days/30 Ways to Give: GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP

Everyone wants to live, work and play in a clean and green community… and it’s up to each of us to make it possible and improve the overall quality of life for all.

Today’s Give Back Action: Join the Great American Cleanup.

From March 1 through May 31, Keep America Beautiful will conduct its annual Great American Cleanup in communities from coast to coast. There will be around 30,000 events taking place in more than 17,000 communities, and if it’s anything like last year, American’s will remove about 100 million pounds of litter from the landscape and waterways, recycle nearly 10.2 million pounds of aluminum and steel, and clean up enough hiking trails to stretch from Key West to Seattle.

Be part of the thousands of volunteers (families, civic and youth groups, businesses) to join or lead cleanup crews to pickup litter during the nation’s largest community improvement effort. (Visit sponsor Keep America Beautiful at kab.org to find events near you.)

It’s fun, practical, meaningful, and easy and anyone can help!
