Day 23 of 30 Days/30 Ways to Give Back: CHARITY WALKS 2010

There’s something superheroesque about using your body as a force for good. Makes you want to put on spandex and flex your biceps, doesn’t it? The good news is that you don’t need superhuman powers to save a life or change one for the better—you just need your body (redjumpsuit and cape optional).

There are move-it-for-charity events year-round all across the country, benefitting numerous causes—suicide prevention, Alzheimer’s research, AIDS awareness, helping the homeless, cleaning up the planet, protecting animals . . . the list goes on. These are fun and celebratory events, where you can enjoy the camaraderie of all these other bodies—thousands of people who share your commitment to a particular cause and have come out to show their support.
